Frequently asked questions

What is Resolver?

Resolver is a Cloud-based application that will automatically generate collision-free, optimized motion paths and interlock signals to reduce cycle times and increase throughput.

Which simulation tools is Resolver compatible with?

Resolver is compatible with the following simulation software:
  • Siemens Tecnomatix® Process Simulate eMS and TC
    • 2301
    • 2307
    • 2402
    • 2408
  • Visual Components (coming June 2025)
    • 4.10
  • MELSOFT Gemini (coming June 2025)
    • 1.410

When should I use Resolver?

Resolver should be used from Proposal, through Design, and into OLP stages of single and multirobot workcells.

What are the benefits of using Resolver in the Proposal stage of a project?

At the Proposal stage, Resolver allows you to optimize the sequence of targets to drastically reduce cycle time. All you need is to start with a group of targets and let Resolver automatically allocate them, balancing the load across robots in the cell. You can also use Resolver to run multiple what-if scenarios and find the best solution for your project.

What are the benefits of using Resolver while designing a workcell?

Resolver accelerates project timelines, shortening the design phase by minimizing mechanical design iterations. You are now able to design fixtures based on real robot motions optimized for cycle time. You can also automatically check reachability of multiple robots to all targets, allowing you to focus on the most challenging spots. Resolver generates optimal paths and interlocks together for the whole cell, not just individual robots. Do all this automatically every design iteration and every change order.

What Robot brands does Resolver work with?

All major robot brands including ABB, Comau, DENSO, FANUC, Kawasaki, KUKA, Mitsubishi, Universal Robots, Yaskawa.

Can I trial Resolver for free?

Yes! First, please Request an Account. Once you are logged in, you can download the Connector for your simulation tool. Then you can also download one of our demo studies. If you need any help, reach out to our Support and we will be glad to help.

What does onboarding for Resolver look like?

After getting an account, simply download the Connector for your specific simulation tool, and you can use our demo studies to experience the power of Resolver. Check out our Documentation for more detailed information.

How does Resolver keep my data and workcell designs secure?

Resolver uses state of the art security and end-to-end encryption to keep your CAD data secure. If you have specific questions please contact our support team for more details.

How much does Resolver cost per user?

We do not charge per user. Instead, we have different pricing tiers to accommodate different project sizes. Please reach out to our Sales team sales@rtr.ai or Request an Account to try it for free.

What kind of support does RTR offer Resolver customers?

We have a team of Application Engineers ready to support you any way we can. Please reach out to our Support team.

How often do you release new features?

We are constantly updating Resolver. Typically, we roll out a new release every 2 to 3 weeks for all versions of a supported simulation tool. Please see our Documentation page for more information.
